This anthology of Malay and English poems “Spiritual Travelogue VI: Hikayat Haji” was written while I was performing Haj from 18th January (15 Zulkaedah 1423H) to 3rd March 2003 (30 Zulhijjah 1423H). Originally compiled as “Hikayat Haji (Annals of Haj) 1423H”, I was drawn to capture the emotions and observations in the form of poetry ever since I entered the Holy Land. Maybe it has been ingrained in me from the time of my great grandfather, Allahyarham Dato Haji Mohd Said Sulaiman who in his days had written several hikayat and tawarikh Johor. This anthology is dedicated as "waqaf" or free book for indiework.usm.my customers.
